Salespeople who are arrogant and know-it-alls lose a lot of business. Customers are annoyed and leave if they are talked down to, so become friendly with your customers and leave the prejudgments at home. You can never judge a book by its cover and the average Joe may bring you the biggest sale of the day. The same goes for thinking that a customer won’t buy because he doesn’t look like the type. Mostly, believe in your product. If you think the item is too expensive it will reflect in your verbiage and then the customer will not be convinced that the item is a good purchase.
- If you judge a book by its cover, you may miss out on a lot of sales. People do not need to look successful and impressive to be well off.
- Do not be the type of salesperson who knows everything and thinks his customers are not very savvy. Talking down to a person is the quickest way to lose a sale.
- If you think your price is too high you will not have the true confidence to sell the product.
“If you prejudge the prospect by his surroundings or the type of character you think he is you will miss half your sales.”
